Series 06 — Corner protection

Corner Protector

The Easooty corner protector is a moulded ABS V-shaped guard that slides over the corners of a load and gives a ratchet strap somewhere safe to bear against. Two widths are produced: 1 inch (66 mm, 20 g) and 2 inch (109 mm, 85 g). The high-visibility yellow finish makes a secured load easy to inspect in dim loading bays, and the moulded strap slots keep webbing centred instead of letting it slide. Manufactured in Ningbo, China for flatbed, pickup and warehouse operators.

  • Two widths — 1 inch (66 mm) and 2 inch (109 mm) — one set covers 25–50 mm webbing
  • Moulded strap slots hold webbing centred so cargo cannot shift on a bumpy road
  • High-visibility yellow makes a secured load easy to check in dim loading bays
  • Impact-resistant ABS stays rigid in cold weather instead of cracking
  • Curved V-profile removes the sharp corner that frays and cuts webbing
  • Stackable and tool-free — slip it on, thread the strap, tighten

Samples ship in 2 business days for stock configurations; a custom webbing colour takes 7–10 days.

About this product

What a corner protector actually does

A ratchet strap works by pressing webbing against something. On a bare pallet edge or a stack of cardboard, that something is a sharp corner, and the webbing is rubbed against it under load until it frays, tears or snaps. A corner protector puts a moulded V-shaped buffer between the strap and the corner, so the tension in the webbing is carried across a smooth curved surface instead of a hard edge. It also spreads that load over a wider area, which means the box behind it does not dent and the timber underneath is not cut into. Nothing about the strap itself changes: you thread the webbing through the moulded slot, run the ratchet as usual, and the corner that used to destroy the webbing becomes the strongest point in the tie-down.

Two sizes, one strap system

The 1 inch protector is 66 mm across the wing and weighs 20 g. The 2 inch protector is 109 mm across the wing and weighs 85 g. Both are moulded from the same high-density ABS, in the same yellow, and both accept 1 inch to 2 inch wide webbing, so a 25 mm strap and a 50 mm strap can be secured to the same corner of a load. The smaller unit is the right choice for box corners, pallets and household moves where the cargo is light and the packaging already takes the worst of the handling. The larger unit is the one for lumber stacks, crate corners and heavy machinery, where the strap runs at high tension and the corner is the part most likely to give.

Why the material matters in cold weather

Thin, brittle plastic guards crack when a winter load is strapped down in a yard at minus ten, and a cracked guard is worse than no guard at all, because the sharp new edge it leaves behind cuts the webbing it was meant to protect. These protectors are moulded from high-density ABS, which stays rigid without becoming brittle across a wide temperature range. The same material absorbs the small impacts of a load shifting in a truck bed instead of chipping the way a thin shell would. It is a rigid plastic, not an elastomer: it will not flex like a rubber corner, but it will not fracture in the cold either.

The slot that keeps the strap where you put it

Many corner protectors are a smooth V, which means the webbing sits on a flat face and is free to walk sideways as the load moves. The slot moulded into each wing of this one takes the webbing below the surface, so the strap is captured by the plastic rather than merely resting on it. That is what stops a strap sliding toward the middle of a load, keeps the tension even, and keeps the protector from working itself loose over a long haul. Installation is one movement: drop the guard over the corner, pass the webbing through the slot, and tighten as usual. No tools, no fasteners, and nothing on the protector that can work loose or fall off in transit.

Packing, MOQ and private label

A protector is a reusable part, not a consumable, and they are supplied in 20-piece sets so a crew can carry a full set on a truck rather than a handful. Being stackable, they take up very little room in a tool drawer or on a shelf. MOQ starts at 5000 pieces per size. For private-label buyers we can raise your logo on the wing panel, produce other colours from the same tool, change the number of pieces per bag, print the polybag and put your own carton markings on the box. Send us a competitor sample and a target price and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it.

Where it is used

  • A yellow ABS corner protector on a carton corner with an orange strap threaded through it

    Corrugated cartons

A strap pressed straight onto a carton edge is what frays the webbing; the guard carries that load across a smooth curve instead.

  • Yellow ABS corner protector on a carton with an auto-retract strap threaded through it

    With an auto-retract strap

The reel strap pulls the carton into the guard rather than across it. The guard takes the corner, the reel keeps the webbing short, and the carton edge stays clean.

  • Cam buckle strap threaded through yellow ABS corner protectors on a carton

    With a cam buckle strap

Thread the strap through the slot above the surface and the carton edge is carried on a smooth curve. The cam can be re-tensioned as the load settles.

  • Yellow ABS corner protector on a red box corner with a black strap threaded through its slot

    Rigid and moulded boxes

A rigid case or a moulded gift box has a hard corner that no strap should touch. The moulded V clips on in one piece and the strap runs through the slot above it.

Frequently asked questions

  • Which size do I need for my ratchet strap?
Match the protector to the webbing you already run. The 1 inch protector (66 mm, 20 g) takes 1 inch / 25 mm webbing; the 2 inch protector (109 mm, 85 g) takes 2 inch / 50 mm webbing. Both are moulded so that the same corner can accept 1 to 2 inch straps, so if your fleet runs mixed widths the 2 inch unit is the safer choice. Tell us the strap width and the corner size of your load and we will confirm the fit before you order.
  • Will a corner protector crack in cold weather?
These are moulded from high-density ABS, which stays rigid across a wide temperature range and does not go brittle the way thin, low-cost plastic guards do. We still recommend that you load and strap the cargo in the yard rather than after the plastic has sat in the vehicle all night, and that you keep protectors out of long-term ultraviolet exposure. If your operation runs in sub-zero conditions year-round, tell us and we will supply test data for the batch.
  • Do I need tools or fasteners to fit it?
No. The guard is moulded with a slot in each wing. You drop it over the corner of the load, pass the ratchet webbing through the slot and tighten as normal. Because the slot captures the webbing below the surface, the strap stays centred instead of sliding sideways, and there are no bolts, no drilling and nothing on the protector that can work loose or fall off in transit.
  • How many protectors do I need?
One per strapped corner. A load with four straps on four corners needs four protectors, and a 20-piece set covers five such loads, which is why most operators buy by the carton. If the same corner carries two straps running in different directions, fit two protectors so the webbing runs on a separate slot in each.
  • Can I get my own colour and branding?
Yes. The 20-piece set is our standard pack size, and the tool is already set up for other colours, so a colour change is a batch decision rather than a new mould. We can also raise a logo on the wing panel, change the number of pieces per bag, print the polybag and put your own carton markings on the box. MOQ is 5000 pieces per size.
  • Is a corner protector a substitute for a strap?
No, and it is worth being clear about that. A corner protector is a load-distribution and edge-protection part; it does not restrain a load and it carries no working load limit of its own. Pair it with the 2 inch manual ratchet strap or the self-retracting series, which have a rated breaking strength and a positive tooth lock. A protector makes that restraint last longer by keeping the webbing off the sharp edge.
